Here’s Rob and Callum’s audition for that automobile podcast; can’t drive, don’t care for cars, can’t even bare being in them but we can have a pop at irreverent bigotry if the dollars are good and the working is minimal. Until then, you got this poxy new music podcast to keep you entertained for over an hour. Tunes are next level this week; we have Nonsense who are an actual good two piece drum and someone else band, some country roots from Ben Rogers, bedroom pop from Fog Lake and Michael Stasis, an instrumental nostalgia trigger track from White Poppy, Those Pretty Wrongs provide what is essentially a Big Star song and some ace noise from The Nopes. Check the podcast for further nuggets and gems.

Podcast choices each week tend to be defined by whatever genre Callum and Rob are heavily listening to at the time. Callum’s been on the punk and folk trip whereas Rob has been digging stuff with a leaning towards jazz and it’s various offshoots. It makes for a podcast of contrasting sounds but they all go together like chilli in chocolate. So there’s punk from Cherry Glazerr and Thing, a folk instrumental courtesy of Haberman and the Teenage Fanclub pop sensibilities of Obleeks backed up against the crisp summer morning jazz of Greg Foat Group, the breezy Bob James satisfaction of Mocky and your monthly dose of keyboard laden prog from Once and Future Band. There’s plenty more besides; have a listen, like the facebook, get in contact and give us a lovely little 5 stars on itunes.

Rob and Callum return from a small break; having finally recovered emotionally, physically, economically and psychologically from Fantasy HellFest ’15, an event so heavy that The Replacements were forcedto split up.
Front to back ace songs this week with the psychedelic hip hop of Chester Watson, Chuck Berry riffing sleaze rock from Lecherous Gaze, killer punk hooks from White Reaper, library funk and soul from AM & Shawn Lee and some pop from Whitney: the superior side-project of members from Smith Westerns and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. There’s also a Byrdsian love affair between a man and a fish, the answer to where you’ll be in a million years’ time and other such greatness.
